Steve Copp

Founder

Steve Copp founded Advantage Log Homes and Above Treeline Construction, a custom home building contractor, in 1984 long before he got involved in the modular home industry. Later on, Steve launched a modular home construction company because he saw an increase in demand and continuous improvement of the quality and low pricing that modular homes now provide. That company is Rocky Mountain Modular Homes which was founded in 2017 as Rocky Mountain Base Camp. Steve brings over four decades of home building experience to the table. Steve recognized with Modular Homes early on, that our customers can have an affordable dream home in the mountains through modular construction and processes.

Dennis Johnstone

Co Owner

Dennis Johnstone has over 30 years of experience in residential construction. His background includes being involved in over 500 projects in Teller County and surrounding counties while creating many happy and satisfied customers along the way.

As a teenager, Dennis started working for another general contractor, his dad. Now Dennis is a master carpenter and has built every type of home- from all types of log to timber frame, conventional stick frame and modular home sets. Dennis loves Colorado and enjoys camping, off-roading, and ATV riding!

Dennis brings experience, high-quality, honesty and integrity to every home that he completes for the customers of Rocky Mountain Modular Homes.

We worked with RMBC to build a modular home in Florissant, CO. from early 2021 until its completion at the end of 2022. Steve Scandura worked tirelessly to help us get the home as close to our specs as possible. He consistently went up against the reps at the factory who made multiple errors during the planning portion of the project. Steve had to constantly call the rep to get a response during the closures and delays caused by Covid. The employees at RMBC were always pleasant and dedicated to us. They even made concessions out of their own pocket when the home builder was unwilling. There were delays, but, when working in this industry, the builder is always reliant on not only the subcontractors, but other factors such as weather and material supply. Steve Scandura, Dennis, Ryan and Zach were always professional and went above and beyond to make our dream come true.

We had a great experience working with Dennis, Steve, and Stan in building this home. Dennis and Steve guided us through the process by listening to our ideas and then helping us to implement those into the home that we wanted. They both kept the project from being stressful, and we enjoyed working with them. Stan, our project manager, was very pleasant to work with and organized the subs to get the home done in a timely manner. As the home developed and we made some additions, they were more than willing to work with our ideas. We would highly recommend this company as we appreciated their integrity, dedication to the project, and quality of work.

Steve has been an exceptionally responsive, helpful, knowledgeable, patient and friendly with my many inquiries. I have been very impressed with him and what Rocky Mountain Base Camp has to offer. I'm confident that I'm in good hands. Thank you!
